I guess THQ haven't heard about the financial crisis. In a competition , to coincide with the release of Saints Row 2, members of myTHQ have the chance to win a gold-plated Xbox 360.
Do people still "pimp" and "bling" things? Oh yeah, 10 year wannabe gangstaz do. I forget that is probably the majority of Saints Row 2 players. Now that THQ have also apparently picked up 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand to publish, this is obviously the market they are aiming for. I can't imagine anyone, apart from Bow Wow, seriously wanting a gold-plated Xbox 360.
It is begging to be nicked if a burglar breaks in. It will a prized possession in a their booty collection, along with your non-gold plated hard drive with your gangsta Gamertag and Wall-E game saves. Would you want to risk it? What if it overheats? Get the Red Ring of Death? Would you send it in and trust the 20 year old gum-chewing courier, while he tosses it in the back of the van indiscriminately along with all the other Red Ring of Death Xbox 360's?
I say good luck to the parents of the 10 year old who wins this. Because they will most likely be seeking counselling, as to why their 10 year old won an over 18 competition about a game that involves gangsters and hookers. As for the gold-plated Xbox 360. Get ready to see it on eBay a week after the winner is announced.
