Yesterday, I asked, do we need another Spiderman game as Spiderman : Web Of Shadows is due for release for Xbox 360 ? Surely game developers have not run out of ideas. I mean there are some ideas that are begging to be made into a next-gen title.
Aliens : Colonial Marines is one such title I have been looking forward to release. This game was original set for the PS2 but then shelved. Thankfully someone at Sega decided to pick it up and make it next-gen. I loved the movie and there is something comfortable about playing a game for the first time and already knowing the enemy. This is the advantage of turning a well known old movie into a game. Ghostbusters will be the same. There's no need to get too familiar with the story, as we know it already. Just pick up and blast away.
So I can't understand why some developers struggle to find a bankable idea. Sure the license may cost a bit, but it would almost be guaranteed sales. I can think of two movies that would be perfect for next-gen titles. Terminator 2 and Robocop. Need I say more?
